Alamo and Castle Hill Community Meeting #2
November 13th, 6:30-8:30 PM
Thank you to all who attended the second Alamo and Castle Hill community meeting for Envision Contra Costa 2040! We had a group of 37 participants who shared their feedback on the draft community profile for Alamo and Castle Hill.
The profile provides context about the community, an overview of planned land uses, and guiding principles, policies, and actions to guide growth and development over the next twenty years. Participants shared helpful feedback that we will use to refine the profile and ensure it reflects what community members want for the future of Alamo and Castle Hill. Some of the following themes emerged from the small group discussions:
- Consider design guidelines for new development consistent with the community’s semi-rural character
- Include County support for undergrounding utilities, especially in hazardous areas
- Support infrastructure and roadway improvements to Stone Valley Road
- Increase traffic enforcement and congestion management, especially near schools and along local street cut-throughs
- Protect ridgelines from development
- Limit the scaling, massing, and density of multi-family housing development
- Emphasize importance of hazard preparedness and emergency response
Be sure to check back into the website often for upcoming meetings and more feedback opportunities!
