North Richmond Climate Action Plan Workshop
October 1st, 6:00-8:00 PM
A committed group joined us in North Richmond on October 1 to discuss the Climate Action Plan Update. Many thanks to community groups Urban Tilth, Healthy Richmond, Rich City Rides, Asian Pacific Environmental Network and Communities for a Better Environment for helping organize the meeting and arranging for translation, childcare, and a delicious dinner by Sparkle’s Catering! We were welcomed by Robert Rogers, District Coordinator for Supervisor John Gioia.
The North Richmond group shared the concerns expressed at other meetings about refineries and other large industrial facilities, and better transit options and bike and pedestrian facilities. Meeting participants also focused on natural infrastructure opportunities and plant-based diets, as well as numerous other topics. We will provide a summary of all the feedback from all the community meetings after our fourth meeting in Antioch on October 15.
